Our community of Surfwood is located on the shore of Lake Michigan, about seven miles north of Harbor Springs.  Surfwood sprang from a vision of its developers, Dean and Lynda Shorter.  They were able to see a community of homes, nestled into the rolling landscape on the Tunnel of Trees of northern Michigan.  Nearly 50 years later, that vision has largely been realized, and is continuing to develop as new homes are added to Surfwood.
